We’ve posted the slides and Prezis from our past workshops. Use them to follow along and learn about a variety of career topics.
Social Media Workshops
LinkedIn is the most powerful social tool you can use to find a job and get ahead in your career. Here are materials from two different LinkedIn workshops we conducted in Fall 2010 and again in Spring 2011.
Blogging is another important tool almost anyone can use to build a professional reputation as an expert and influencer. Check out the slides from the November 2010 workshop that Tracy Brisson facilitated with Keith Petri of eBranding.me.
Our final social media workshop was on using Twitter. We combined the workshop with a #nycjobsearch Tweetup for job seekers and great connections were made. We hope to repeat the Tweetup again soon!
While social media offers new and important tools for finding jobs and building relationships, they are only useful if you can show that you also have the interpersonal skills that employers seek in new hires at all levels. Use our online Prezi to prepare for your next interview.
The Opportunities Project often provides public webinars with partners. You can register for a free recorded version of these webinars with the partner organization.
- Using Your Competitive Advantage to Find a Teaching Job presented by SchoolSpring. On this webinar, Tracy Brisson reviews critical things new teacher applicants can do to increase their odds of finding a job.
- Balance: The Social Networking Job Search – Build, Engage, Find presented by YouTern (Recording coming soon).
